Once again, I shall attempt to read 52 books in one year, approximately one book a week on average. In 2011 I read 29 books, falling rather short of my goal. Hopefully this year, I'll have a bit more luck.

1) What religion, spirituality, or belief system were you raised in?

I was raised Roman Catholic.

2) Do you subscribe to the same belief system now? If not, what do you believe/identify with now?

Not at all. When I was in middle school and freshman year, I started really doubting my religion. I had a lot of questions that I couldn't find satisfactory answers to, so I started researching. The more information I found out about Catholicism, the less I liked it for myself. When I was 16, I started reading books about wicca, while researching about nearly every religion I could find, in hopes that I could find one that suited me. Eventually, I realized that nothing was quite right, so I started identifying as pagan, and just sort of figuring things out for myself.

3) Is belonging to an organized religious community important to you? Why nor why not?

Not really. I suppose if there was a pagan, or even non-secular church or group near me, I might try it, but it's not a really big deal. Even when I identified as Catholic, I didn't understand why we had to go to church, and couldn't just pray at home.
I don't really like organized religion, on principle. I feel like spirituality is something that is very individual, and organized religion can be limiting. But conversely, I think everyone should be free to practice whatever religion they choose, organized or not.

4) Have you read any holy texts? (Of your faith or another). Have they had/do they have any impact on your worldview? In what way?

I've read bits and pieces of the bible. And plenty of pagan and wiccan books. I any sort of religious books very interesting, and they do impact what I believe, and what I don't. I just sort of pick and choose what feels right for me. I'd like to read more religions texts in the future.

5) Do you participate in any spiritual rituals? (Eg: prayer, religious services, nonsecular holidays, etc).

I celebrate the Equinoxes and Soltices, and observe the phases of the moon. I might observe Samhain this year, properly, but I'm not sure yet. I do rituals occasionally, when I feel the need. And I don't so much as pray, but sort of talk to... whatever is out there. The Gods? The Goddess? I'm not sure yet.
